Baby Sun Rose (Heartleaf Iceplant)

Aptenia cordifolia is an evergreen and fast-growing succulent that siuts itself well as ground cover or beautiful hanging baskets.  Serves as an excellent bedding plant or ground cover for rock gardens or small garden areas.

Growing and Maintenance Tips for Baby Sun Rose

Water only when the soil is completely dry, and then provide enough to drench the soil.  Do not water if the soil feels damp as this will promote root rot.  Allow only enough water to moisten the soil as the plant deteriorates quickly in damp or soggy soil.  Be sure to locate baby sunrose in the full sun.

Detailed Description for Aptenia

Aptenia is a fast-growing, evergreen, mat-forming perennial, growing in flat clumps on the ground.   The bright green leaves are fleshy, flat, heart oval shaped and up to 1.2 inches long. The flowers are red, pink and yellow.  Its flowers look like miniature asters and are a favorite of butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.
