Bulbine, which originated in South Africa, grow in Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 8 through 11, where they have developed a high tolerance to drought conditions. This showy flower needs only a minimum amount of water to grow well. It also needs good drainage and a warm sunny site. Full sun exposure is ideal for this succulent, but they do tolerate light shade.
